| Recherche | The Department of Research at ESC Rennes was founded to create knowledge in the areas considered to be relevant for the local economic and international environments. As the institution is exceptionally internationally oriented, this second focus is indispensable in supporting this strategic choice. The value of such as a strategy is clear: knowledge created at Groupe ESC Rennes benefits all Brittany based firms in achieving their international objectives, as well as speaking to a larger international audience. The Department of Research consists of several full-time staff that have three main roles: conducting departmental research projects within three research centres : supporting faculty research activities; and administering a research degrees programme (Mphil, Phd) offered by the Open University Of the United Kingdom. Departmental research comprises three main foci: international studies on small medium-sized enterprises (SME); studies in the areas of technology, innovation, and creativity management; and studies regarding strategic alliances between organisations. |
| Ecole doctorale | Doctor of Philosophy The degree programme entails several steps. The first year consists of the preparation of a detailed research proposal, including an oral defence of the proposed research. Candidates also are required to take coursework designed to assist in the preparation and execution of a research project. Upon successful completion of the first year, candidates conduct their research project and prepare their dissertation. This usually takes two or three years to complete. The final step is an oral defence of their research in front of a panel of qualified academics. |
