Le programme European Master of Business Sciences (EMBS) correspond à un schéma d'études très réfléchi, amenant au niveau du master. Il comporte comme partie intégrante une année d'études à l'étranger.
Le dispositif est administré par un consortiumd'universités et de business schools . Il vise à satisfaire les attentes de la formation de gestion dans l'Europe moderne. Close cooperation between the institutions involved and a jointly agreed programme structure provides a programme of academic excellence, leading to full competence in another community language and an indepth understanding of the business environment and culture of other European countries.
A l'opposé des programmes
de MBA , la formule EMBS ne vise pas à accueillir des diplômés
des autres disciplines ou des personnes engagées dans la vie professionnelle
mais cherche plutôt à attirer de étudiants à haut
potentiel ayant déjà suivi avec succès la première
phase de leurs études dans les instituions partenaires.On
peut estimer que les compétences, points de vue et éléments
d'expérience apportés par le programme EMBS programme correspondent
bien aux attentes du marché européen d el'emploi. La programme
permet tout autant de postuler l'accès aux études doctorales.
Crée en1980 le programme EMBS a conduit à un epremière délivrance de cerifictas en1992. Le programme est particulièrement sélectif.
The qualifying stage of the scheme is spent at what is referred to as a student's 'home institution'. This is the university or business school at which a candidate is provided with the basic grounding in business related subjects. At the Austrian and German universities this stage is completed with the 'Vordiplom'/'Erste Diplomprüfung' examinations. At French business schools it encompasses the 'Classes Préparatoires' and the first year of study, while at UK universities it corresponds to the first two years of a Bachelor's degree scheme.
Only the top 30% of students who have successfully completed this stage are eligible to be considered as candidates for the second stage, the EMBS programme as such. This includes a mandatory study period of at least one academic year abroad.
EMBS candidates are required to complete a total of 7 modules. Each module amounts to the workload of approximately a third of an academic year i.e. represents 20 ECTS credits and the courses involved are structured so as to allow a candidate to complete a module within a single academic year. A module in European Affairs and a project/thesis are compulsory for all candidates.
In addition candidates select
5 subject modules from the following 9 options available:
At most two modules can be in the same subject area. European Affairs and at least two of the other modules must be completed at a 'host institution' in another language area.
Modules are assessed on a five grade scale agreed by all institutions. Candidates are generally not permitted to resit any of the examinations involved.
Les étudiants ayant sivi avec succès le cycle reçoivent le certificat EMBS du consortium. Les étudiants exceptionels peuvent recevoir une mention, soit 'with avec "merite", soit, exceptionnellement, avec "distinction". Un rapport sur les études suivies est joint au certificat (notes et modules). Les institutions d'origine attribuent leur diplôme aux étudiants obtenant le certificat.
