Diplôme d'études supérieures spécialisées: DESS


General information

The preparation of a DESS is based on a one-year programme

The basic aim of a DESS is to provide a quite specialized training in an area which is supposed to interest industry ( or the economic world).Quite often DESS are covering the interface between two main techncial or scientific domain. In Information technology many programmes present themselves as dual-skill programmes.More than 300 specialized graduate programmes lead to a DESS in science and engineering. Those are organized by universities, often in partnership with one or many engineering schools.

Admission

An engineering degree or a university degree at the bac+4 level is required . Selection is organized using the student's resume and interviews (usually in June/July and again in September.
