Courses in space and aeronautical engineering

Short programs

Two-year programs

BTS:
There is only one BTS focusing on aeronautics: the BTS dedicated to maintenance et operation of aeronautical material at Hazebrouck in northern France
IUT:
There is no specific IUT course entirely dedicated to aeronautics, there is one option of the DUT in mechanical engineering at Toulouse dedicated to aerospace techniques.
Later training courses at DUT or at-BTS

There are complementary training courses at IUT de Ville d'Avray (DEST in propulsors, equipments and telecommunications devices., at IUT of Talence and at Paris X1 (DEST de sciences et technologies de l'Espace)

Four year programs (IUP)

see presentation of IUP= module IUP

Two IUP programs are related to aeronautics techniques

Some other IUP in material sciences at Evry or at Pau may be quoted

At the Maîtrise level, the Maîtrise of mechanics with electives in aeronautics of universities de Marseille I et II must be mentioned.

IUP list

Accreditated Engineering programs (five years)

There is no close relationship between engineering schools and aeronautical employment. A special mention has to be given of

  • ENSAE de_Toulouse ( Sup-Aéro) with two main courses, vehicles or systems, with a wide variety of last year options
  • ENSICA de_Toulouse which is focusing on planes manufacturing
  • ENAC de_Toulouse whose main domain is traffic control
  • ENSMA_Poitiers, related to aerothermics and propulsion
  • ESTA, with one-year specialisation in aeronautics
  • EPF_Sceaux ( 15 months course)
  • ESTACA, with a full course dedicated to aeronautics
  • ECP: one option in Space techniques
  • ENST_Paris: one option in aerospace and aeronautical telecommunications in Toulouse.
